This proceedings volume describes a number of recent advances in understanding the rigidity and flexibility of repetitive and symmetric structures. Contributions come from across a range of different scientific, mathematical and engineering disciplines. Progress is described in diverse areas that range from basic definitions of rigidity for repetitive structures, through an understanding of the effects of symmetry and periodicity on rigidity, to the practical implications of these topics on the development and understanding of new materials and engineered structures.
